1948

At the age of 26, Dipl. Ing. (FH) Rudi Bremer founds company BREMER in Berlin-Schöneberg, which initially makes a name for itself in the wild 1950s with amplifiers and pickups for electric guitars.
The development and production of transformers, inductors and other inductive components follow.

1984

Son Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Bremer, born in 1955, takes over the shares and the management.

He studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, majoring in power electronics and high-voltage engineering.

BREMER Trafo becomes the specialist for customised components with a high proportion of engineering work and special requirements.
With the help of a transformer calculation program developed by BREMER itself, which is constantly being further developed in a practice-oriented manner, the customer’s requirements for the product can be implemented precisely.

1994

Purchase of a commercial property together with GERTH Transformatorenbau, the specialist for print transformers, which is also getting too crowded in Berlin.
Mr. Bremer and Mr. Gerth jointly build their own transformer factory south of Berlin in a beautifully landscaped business park.

1996

The company moves into the new building in the Brandenburg Park in Genshagen with direct highway access. Now more efficient processes, expanded manufacturing possibilities and new process technologies are possible as an investment in the future.

In 2005 BREMER closes the plant engineering division and concentrates again on its core competence: transformers, inductors, converters and related products.

Continuous investments are made in technical equipment, in state-of-the-art hardware and software and in an exceptionally well-equipped test field for advanced measurements and fundamental work.

2009

Introduction of the self-developed ERP software for production control.
The P.I.E.T Program guides and documents each order from order to delivery through all production steps, including prescribed interim inspections.

2010

First certification of the QM system of BREMER Und GERTH according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 by the TÜV Rheinland.

Until 2012 BREMER is a regular exhibitor at the international trade fairs:

  • Electronica (trade fair for the electronics industry) in Munich
  • Innotrans (international trade fair for transport technology) in Berlin
2008 Siemens shows here a BREMER inductor in its “Sitras” energy storage system, which is used to operate a tram in Lisbon without overhead lines.

2012

The joint test laboratory of BREMER and GERTH is certified by the VDE (Association of German Electrical Engineers) for the Test Data Acceptance Program. This allows measurements to be carried out in-house that would otherwise only be carried out at the VDE in Offenbach.

2015

Series production of

  • Sinusoidal filter inductors for Siemens “Siestorage” energy storage system
  • Voltage transformers for GE (General Electric) for wind power (large-scale production over several years)

2018

Expansion of the product range and increase in own vertical range of manufacture: Establishment and equipping of an electronics area with device construction.

QM certification according to new standard: DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Rheinland.

2020

Marked by the Corona Pandemic:
The BREMER team and the whole environment are lucky, stay healthy and confident: Start of the retread of the homepage with professional support.

Reliable delivery of a large order for a German power plant.

2021

The new homepage is public.

2023

Lucas Bremer has become a part of the family business, representing the third generation. As an expert in semiconductor quantum optics with a strong background in physics, he merges scientific precision with hands-on expertise.
