Type series EI

Transformers of the EI type series have a basic cubic shape. They are economical and are manufactured up to power ratings of approx. 650VA.

The majority of PCB transformers are encapsulated EI types.

Type series UI

Transformers of the UI type series are also named “core transformers” – in contrast to so-called “shell transformers”. They have a flat basic shape and can be recognized by the two windings. They are manufactured with standard laminations up to power ratings of approx. 20kVA.

For printed circuit boards, UI transformers are available as so-called flat transformers with power ratings of approx. 10 to 30VA.

Type series M

Transformers of the type series M offer some technical advantages for special transformers, but are not very common for economic reasons.

Small transformers

Almost all BREMER transformers are designated as small transformers and as dry transformers in the relevant standards. We refer to their basic mechanical structures as “vertical” if they are fitted with foot angles. We name the versions with spacer bolts or foot brackets “horizontal”.

Choose Your Ambient Temperature

In the following you will find type overviews, which give an orientation about the mechanical dimensions of the required transformer for your electrical power requirement. For this correlation between mechanics and electrics, the ambient temperature of the transformers is an essential boundary condition. Choose from the common ambient temperatures ta40, ta50, and ta70 to find the one that suits you best.

We will be pleased to calculate YOUR individual transformer for the appropriate environment.

Possible mechanical designs for 1-phase transformers at ta = 40°C:

The type ratings given are for initial orientation. The output power achievable with a specific core type must be determined individually for each product. It depends on a number of boundary conditions such as ambient temperature, maximum permitted component temperature, core material, operating mode, cooling situation, number of output windings, insulation requirements (type of transformer), etc.
